After working for the Chicago Tribune, for which she covered the war in Iraq, Stephanie Sinclair lived in Lebanon for six years as as a freelance photographer. She is now based in the United States and collaborates regularly with the New York Time Magazine, Time Magazine, National Geographic Magazine, and others. For the past 11 years, she has traveled through Afghanistan, Ethiopia, India, Nepal, Yemen and many other countries where the tradition of marrying young girls is customary. Her photo-reportage, called “Too Young to Wed”, has received many international prizes. In addition to photography, Stephanie Sinclair created a non-profit organization with the same name as her photo-reportage – "Too Young to Wed". Its primary purpose is to protect the rights of young girls and to try to end forced child marriages throughout the world.
